Bell’s Chapel Church of God

Bell’s Chapel Church of God, located at 42nd and Mitthoeffer, is a light to its community. It is a church, a daycare center, a kindergarten class, houses a food pantry, and is a community center for the neighborhood. With the recent arson to the building much of the activity of the church, including services and daycare, has been shifted to Abounding Grace, a church that grew out of Bell’s Chapel.

Bishop Adrienne Holmes has an incredible heart for her community. Within a week of the fire she was back in her community and had a food/clothing drive within two weeks.

There is a lot of on-site work that can be done, but obviously more will come as they decide how they will proceed following the fire.

The work at Bell’s Chapel is being headed up by Ken and Janis Agee, Tod and Jenny Martens, and Rich Herbert.

Camp Challenge Indiana

Camp Challenge Indiana is the Church of God camp that many of our students attend during the summer. Situated near Bedford, the camp has over 1,600 acres and provides a weekly camping program for youth during the summer months.

This is a location that CATC has had a good partnership with for some time, building a cabin there four years ago.

Working as a volunteer with Camp Challenge Indiana will allow any age to get involved and volunteer in a location that is not far from home.

The work at Camp Challenge Indiana is being headed up by Kevin Wilson and Phil Burress.

Camp Challenge Alaska

Camp Challenge Alaska was started in the early 1960s and is supported by the Church of God in Alaska. During the summer they have programming for the Church of God youth and families.

Brad Helvey, director of Camp Challenge Alaska, took this job within the past year. There are parts of the camp that are in dire need of repair and assistance, something that CATC will be providing in May (10-23). In July, during their family camp, the Sr. High youth of CATC will help out with the camp in many different ways.

The work at Camp Challenge Alaska is being headed up by Russ Jones, Phil Burress, Kevin Wilson, and Mandy Baldwin (youth).
